Cello http://www.newpinoymovies.com/foreign-movies/cello.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/foreign-movies/cello.htm#comments Fri, 27 Aug 2010 23:36:26 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2489 Cello is a Korean Horror Movie

The viewer first sees a young woman playing the Ave Maria on a cello, the scene shifts to show another woman bleeding on an operating table.

Another scene shift shows the main character, Hong Mi-ju (Seong Hyeon-ah) watching students playing their cellos while their professor grades them. The professor, being friendly with Mi-ju, tried to coax her into going to a welcome home concert for the little sister of Kim Tae-yeon (Tae-yeon, as we find out, is deceased). Mi-ju appears nervous and politely declines both the concert and a job offer to become more than just an associate teacher. In the teacher’s lounge, Mi-ju is confronted by an angry student who tells Mi-ju that all because of Mi-ju, all of her work for music is for nothing. The student is smug and cocky, promising revenge and asks Mi-ju “Are you happy now? You should be!”. Mi-ju leaves, shaken, and starts to drive home. On her way back home, she nearly avoids getting into an accident with a truck, and discovers she has luckily avoided death. When she gets home, Mi-ju receives a message on her cell phone: “Are you happy? …You should be.”

Startled, Mi-ju looks around the house while turning on lights, but they snap off when she reaches the attic. There, she sees her elder, autistic daughter, Yoon-jin (Choi Ji-eun), sitting in a chair, facing the window. The lights come on, revealing her husband Jun-ki (Jeong Ho-bin), her sister-in-law Kyeong-ran (Wang Bit-na), and her younger daughter Yoon-hye. Everyone but Yoon-jin, who appears mute and emotionless, sings “Happy Birthday” to Mi-ju. Mi-ju opens her presents, which include a music album from Kyeong-ran, “Rainy Day”. Yoon-hye shows her mother how she has taught her older sister to count to five with her fingers, which seems to fascinate Yoon-jin. Later on, as they bathe, Mi-ju tells Yoon-jin how happy she is, how much she loves Yoon-jin. Mi-ju seems to share a special affection for Yoon-jin, as she blames herself for Yoon-jin’s autistic condition.

The next day after a doctor’s visit, they pass a music store. Yoon-jin stops to stare at a cello, and Mi-ju buys it for her. When they get home, their dog, Sunny, barks uncontrollably at them, but stops once Yoon-jin and the cello pass by. Mi-ju meets the new, silent housekeeper, Ji-sook, and begins to teach Yoon-jin how to play the cello. The next morning, however, Sunny the dog is found dead.

More strange things happen; Yoon-hye plays in Kyeong-ran’s room until the latter’s fiance, Hyeon-woo, calls. Having been shooed out, Yoon-hye goes to her sister’s room to ask to try the cello, but the normally calm and emotionless Yoon-jin surprisingly bites her little sister.

The same night, Kyeong-ran has a breakdown, as her fiance has seemingly broken up with her. There seems to be no calming her down, and eventually the family has to just leave Kyeong-ran alone for the time being. In Yoon-jin’s room, Mi-ju watches the sleeping Yoon-jin, but her daughter’s sleeping face suddenly becomes ghastly, and eerie voices can be heard.

In Kyeon-ran’s room, a crack appears on a picture of Kyeong-ran and her fiance, and through the wall, a ghost (who oddly enough looks like the disgruntled student who confronted Mi-ju about the poor grade she had received) emerges and throws her through the glass balcony door. The rest of the family does not seem to hear a thing, calmly trying to knock on Kyeong-ran’s door again to get her to come out for something to eat. However, Yoon-jin gets out of bed and pulls back the curtain, and sees Kyeong-ran strangled and dangling at her window.

Sensing his wife’s inner turmoil, Jun-ki asks what’s going on, and presents her with her old college yearbook, asking why Kim Tae-yeon’s pictures are cut out. Mi-ju tells her husband the reason why she quit playing the cello is because of her former friend, Kim Tae-yeon. They could have been great friends, Tae-yeon had told Mi-ju, but Tae-yeon was tired of always being in Mi-ju’s shadow. The flash back shows a plain girl, Kim Tae-yeon, struggling to play as good as her friend, and struggling to pretend to be happy for her friend as Mi-ju rises far and above her friend. Mi-ju tells her husband that she doesn’t think Tae-yeon was trying to kill her out of jelousy, but the night Mi-ju was chosen above Tae-yeon, there was a car accident and Tae-yeon was killed while Mi-ju was merely injured.

Despite the shock of her sister-in-law’s apparent suicide, Mi-ju attends the cello concert she had previously declined. However, the strange circumstances don’t stop there, and with a blink of an eye, Mi-ju finds herself alone in the room. She sees the same ghost who emerged through Kyeong-ran’s wall on stage playing the cello, and hears Yoon-hye’s voice whispering, “One, two, three, four, five.” But then, it is over and the other people and the cello player reappear, but Mi-ju leaves, terrified, hearing the voices from the night before.

At home, Yoon-hye begs again to play the cello, but becomes frightened when the cello starts to appear and disappear without anyone touching it. She tries to leave Yoon-jin’s room, but the door is locked. They are suddenly transported to the balcony, with Yoon-hye hanging from the side. Mi-ju returns to see Yoon-jin pulling Yoon-hye’s fingers back one by one as the voices repeat, “One, two, three, four, five.” Yoon-hye falls to her death, and it begins to rain. Mi-ju gathers her now dead little daughter, and places her body in the basement, unable to cope with what has just happened, and trying desperately to protect her older daughter, Yoon-jin. When Mi-ju’s husband, Jun-ki, returns home from work, he asks where Yoon-hye is, but Mi-ju replies she sent her daughter to camp. Wanting to talk to his little girl, Jun-ki calls her cell phone, but gets no answer. However, he starts to hear the ringing of the phone in the basement where Yoon-hye’s body is…

Confronting his wife, he demands to know what’s going on, accusing Mi-ju of killing their little girl. As Mi-ju explains it was an accident, starting to get hysterical. In the struggle, Mi-ju pushes her husband back, only to find he has been stabbed by a sharp pipe and is dead. Mi-ju turns to face the stairway slowly and sees the ghost who looks like the disgruntled student and whispers, “…Kim Tae-yeon…”

Through the ghost of Kim Tae-yeon’s eyes, we see a flashback and the truer events. Kim Tae-yeon, who looks exactly like the student from the beginning of the movie; pretty, talented, and confident (indeed, the audience is led to believe there really wasn’t a student to begin with, but rather Mi-ju hallucinating events), is the more talented cello player. It is Kim Tae-yeon, not Mi-ju, who was the more talented, sweet, and “better” student. After the final humiliation of Kim Tae-yeon being chosen of, Mi-ju swerves while driving them home and crashes the car by a steep incline off the road. Tae-yeon is thrown from the car and is barely holding on from falling off the side of the cliff. Mi-ju grabs her friend’s hand but eventually lets Kim Tae-yeon fall to her death.

Brought back to the present, Mi-ju tries to stab Tae-yeon’s ghost with a knife to stop her from going to Yoon-jin, begging “Not my Yoon-jin, not my Yoon-jin!”. She then sees that she has stabbed the housekeeper. Believing the cello to hold the power to the ghost of Kim Tae-yeon, Mi-ju grabs a golf club and rushes to Yoon-jin’s room. Mi-ju grabs the cello, throws it out against the wall, and smashes it as Yoon-jin screams in her room. When the noise stops, Mi-ju goes in. The room is empty except for the cello, which is unharmed. She looks back into the hallway to see the beaten and bloody body of her daughter. As Mi-ju kneels by the weltering Yoon-jin, she feels Tae-yeon forcing her hand to stab Yoon-jin’s beaten body. Mi-ju resists and stabs herself in the chest.

Mi-ju wakes up in the hospital to find that her earlier car accident was not imaginary, and that the previous events have been part of her coma—the voices she heard were actually those of Jun-ki and Yoon-hye, whispering for her to wake up. Mi-ju finds her family members are all safe and sound, around her and hugging her tightly. Outside the hospital room, Jun-ki asks the doctor why his wife thought they were all dead. The doctor replies it was probably part of the coma—Mi-ju’s family is all that is important to Mi-ju now, and oftentimes anxiety will pertain to what is most important to a person.

When Mi-ju returns home, she receives the same message again: “Are you happy? …You should be.” She walks through the house turning on lights, which go out when she reaches the attic. Again, she finds her family there, in the same way as she did in the beginning of the movie. They sing “Happy Birthday” to her, and Kyeong-ran gives Mi-ju the same album. Inside, she finds a scribbled inscription: “This is only the beginning,” before the ghostly hands of Kim Tae-yeon reach through Mi-ju’s hair and slowly grasp her old friend’s face.

Step Up 3D http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/step-up-3d.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/step-up-3d.htm#comments Fri, 27 Aug 2010 23:16:02 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2485 Step Up 3D is a 2010 American 3D dance film written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer and directed by Step Up 2 the Street’s Jon Chu. The sequel sees the return of Adam Sevani and Alyson Stoner, who portrayed Moose from Step Up 2 the Streets and Camille Gage from Step Up, respectively.

As the third installment in the Step Up trilogy, and the first shot in 3D, the film follows Moose and Camille Gage as they head to New York University, the former of whom is majoring in electrical engineering after promising his mother that he would not dance anymore. However, he soon stumbles upon a dance battle, meeting Luke and his House of Pirates dance crew and later teaming up with them to compete in the World Jam dance contest against their rivals, the House of Samurai dance crew.

Step Up 3D premiered in Hollywood at the El Captain Theater on August 2, 2010 and was subsequently released worldwide on August 6, 2010, through conventional 2D and 3D (in RealD 3D, Dolby 3D, and XpanD 3D) formats. It was also the second movie to feature the 7.1 surround sound audio format, the first of which was Toy Story 3. The film grossed $15.8 million in its opening weekend, the lowest of the trilogy, and has received mixed to positive reviews, with some praising its dance sequences and effective use of 3D, while others criticizing the repetitive story.

Plot

The story begins in traditional video style, as several of the film’s characters are recorded and asked a series of questions about why they dance. The film then cuts to Moose and Camille Gage who are both dancers and attend New York University. Moose is majoring in electrical engineering after promising his mother that he would not dance anymore. He soon stumbles upon a dance battle, meeting Luke and his House of Pirates dance crew and later teaming up with them to compete in the World Jam dance contest against their rivals, the House of Samurai dance crew.

Luke meets a girl named Natalie at his club and quickly takes notice of her dancing abilities, enlisting her to become part of his crew and hoping her talent can bring them to victory. However, he is unaware of Natalie’s true motives.

Moose found his time to be increasingly tighter as he had to choose between studies and dance many times, including once when his test clashes with a dance competition. He decides to go for the test, but upon seeing the test paper and receiving an angry message from Luke, he decides to forgo the test and rushes to the competition in the nick of time.

Luke and Natalie become increasingly close as the movie progresses. They share many intimate moments, such as standing above an air vent and blowing “slurpee bubbles” and also Luke explaining his true intentions with his recordings – he wants to start a course using his own dance interviews. Yet Natalie is hiding the fact that her brother is Julian from the enemy House of Samurai and lies about everything but the love connection between her and Luke.

Natalie faces a hard decision torn between her love and her family. She decides to leave Luke. However, Julian uses her phone to send an invitation to Luke for her birthday party. Luke went in search for Natalie, and while they were having an intimate moment Julian takes the chance to appear. Natalie’s identity is then revealed to Luke by Julian.

Moose and Camille are best friends but Moose doesn’t seem to see that Camille is in love with him. The two fall out during the film because Moose lies to Camille about dancing and she feels like he can’t talk to her anymore. Camille feels that Moose doesn’t have time for her anymore and tells him she misses him and feels like he doesn’t miss her at all. Moose tells Camille that he misses dancing but misses her more and that she is his best friend in the whole world.

The two make up on NYC streets by dancing to a remix of Gene Kelly and Ginger Rogers. Camille tells Moose that he can never give up dancing as he was born to do it. Moose then helps out Luke by giving him additional members for his crew including Camille and The MSA Crew from Step Up 2: The Streets.

Natalie helps Luke to win the World Jam at the end with the routine they had practiced in the past. She invites him to come with her to California, which he does at the end of the film, meeting her at the train station and kissing her. Following this, Moose kisses Camille, showing her he really does like her. Before leaving for California with Natalie, Luke gives Moose a pair of Limited Edition Gun Metal Nike Dunks which he saw at the beginning of the film with Camille on NYU Campus. The film ends with Moose and Camille saying ‘Lets Party People’ to the crew.

Titanic 2 http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/titanic-2.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/titanic-2.htm#comments Fri, 27 Aug 2010 23:10:37 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2481 Titanic II is a TV movie and a direct-to-DVD disaster film by The Asylum, that was released on August 24, 2010, in the United States. Contrary to popular opinion, the film is not a sequel to the 1997 film by James Cameron, although movie website Dread Central has suggested the film may be a mockbuster of it, which is to be re-released in 2012 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the original ship. It was released Direct-to-TV in Australia on August 7, 2010. It premiered on SyFy on Sky Digital in the UK and Ireland on August 9, 2010.

The film takes place in April 2012, 100 years since the sinking of the RMS Titanic. A new luxury cruise liner, the Titanic II, has been christened, and is soon to embark on her maiden voyage, on the same route the Titanic took 100 years before.

During the voyage, effects of possible global warming force an island of ice in the Arctic to collapse, and creates a disastrous tsunami that sends an iceberg crashing into the Titanic II, leaving it to the same fate of her predecessor.

Vampires Suck (2010) http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/vampires-suck-2010.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/vampires-suck-2010.htm#comments Wed, 25 Aug 2010 05:38:23 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2446 Vampires Suck (also stylized as Vampires Rule Suck) is a 2010 American vampire spoof film directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, starring Jenn Proske, Matt Lanter, Christopher N. Riggi, Ken Jeong, and Anneliese van der Pol.

Plot

Becca Crane (Jenn Proske) moves to Sporks to live with her clueless father, Frank (Diedrich Bader), after her mother starts an affair with Tiger Woods. She is quickly befriended by many students at her new high school, but she is intrigued by the mysterious and aloof Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter), who perplexes her during their time in biology. Later, Becca is nearly struck by a van in the school parking lot. Edward inexplicably moves from several feet away and stops the vehicle with a student without any harm to himself or Becca. He later refuses to explain this act to Becca and warns her against befriending him. After much research, but reaching the wrong conclusion that he is a Jonas, Edward corrects her saying he’s a vampire, though he only consumes animal blood. The pair fall in love and Edward introduces Becca to his vampire family. While unwrapping a gift, Becca gets a paper cut, causing Edward’s family to relapse by her blood’s scent and attempt to kill her. Realizing the danger that he and his family pose to Becca, Edward ends their relationship while saving her from the one of the three nomadic vampires who have been killing humans, Jack (Charlie Weber), knocking his head off with a baseball bat.

Edward’s departure leaves Becca heartbroken and depressed for months as she discovers that thrill-seeking activities evoke Edward’s preserved image. She is also comforted by her deepening friendship with Jacob White (Chris Riggi), the cheerful childhood friend who eases her pain over losing Edward. But due to his strange puberty, Becca discovers he has become a werewolf as his pack arrive to maul another of the nomadic vampires. Through a series of miscommunications, Edward believes Becca has killed herself and attempts to provoke the “Zolturi” — a powerful vampire coven capable of killing him — by exposing himself in the sunlight at the site of the school prom. Becca rushes to the prom in a Porsche 911 to save Edward. Upon arrival, she is slowed down during the warring factions of Edward fangirls and Jacob fangirls and thus barely able to stop him. However after a fight between him and the Zolturi leader, Daro (Ken Jeong), Edward is forced to make Becca into a vampire so their lives would be spared. He does so after Becca agrees to marry him if he makes her a vampire. The movie concludes with Edward taking a blow to the head by the head Jacob fangirl, who ends up becoming the vampirized Becca’s first meal.

The Loosers http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/the-loosers.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/the-loosers.htm#comments Wed, 25 Aug 2010 01:16:39 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2440 THE LOOSERS

Based on a comic of the same name, this film is an old-fashioned action movie with tough guys, guns, chicks, and explosions. The plot has the main characters, The Losers, traveling from place to place, working together, carrying out various missions, exchanging witty banter, while trying to find and destroy the ever-so-elusive Max, a ruthless boss who is very well-protected.

Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard) directs this action flick with lots of confidence, zooms, action still shots, and various editing tricks, which, thankfully, weren’t too distracting. The typical action movie plot had occasional fun twists.

The characters and their relationship dynamics truly make this film shine. They have great chemistry. Jeffery Dean Morgan (who played The Comedian in The Watchmen) is charismatic as the decisive, yet flawed leader of the group. Zoe Saldana brings a lot of feminine charm and spunk as Aisha. The banter between the characters brings a lot of humor and life to much of the film.

Jason Patric is particularly great to watch on screen as the bad guy, Max, an evil genius with the best lines, just short from being completely insane. He is often surrounded by women. He kills and gets people killed for small things. Of course, he may not be realistic, but is a great cinematic bad guy.

There are occasional missteps here and there. A fight scene between Clay and Aisha appear to make little sense in regards to plot (but hey, it looks cool). Also, while the stunt work and real-life action scenes look good, whenever there is CG, it looks out of place, and in some cases, took me out of the film. Now, given its comic book origins, I have forgiven a lot worse in other films that were also made from comics.

This film reminded me a bit of the 2003’s Italian Job, in terms of flavor. Overall, this film, padded with humor, action, and fun characters, was made purely to entertain, and the filmmakers have certainly accomplished that mission.

Whispering Corridors 5 – A Blood Pledge http://www.newpinoymovies.com/asian-horror-movies/whispering-corridors-5-a-blood-pledge.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/asian-horror-movies/whispering-corridors-5-a-blood-pledge.htm#comments Tue, 24 Aug 2010 09:15:10 +0000 admin http://www.freepinoymovies.com/?p=2434 Whispering Corridors is set in a fairly typical all-female high school in Korea, called Jookran High School For Girls, and the story begins on the night before the first day of the new school year. A female teacher called Mrs Park (better known by her unaffectionate nickname ‘Old Fox’ on account of her nasty behaviour and treatment of the students), has discovered something mysterious and weird concerning a late pupil of the school called Jin-ju. Jin-ju had committed suicide in the school’s art rooms nine years previously, and her ghost was said to haunt the art rooms which had been closed up after the incident.

She tries to call her new colleague, Hur Eun-young (played by Lee Mi-yeon), who is a former student of the school, and Jin-ju’s best friend, and tell her what she has found out, saying “…Jin-ju is definitely dead… but she’s still attending school!” However, before she can explain about her discovery, she is attacked and murdered, and left hanging in the schoolyard.

The first people to make this gruesome discovery the next day are three girls just beginning their senior year: a timid outsider called Youn Jae-yi (Choi Se-yeon) and a confident, talented young artist, Lim Ji-oh (Kim Gyu-ri), who are the new class monitors and therefore obliged to carry out early-morning classroom cleaning before school; and a weird, sullen, deeply unpopular girl, Kim Jung-sook (Yun Ji-hye), who the other girls believe has been possessed by the fabled spirit of Jin-ju.

All the girls are of course shocked and upset to make this horrible discovery; it upsets Ji-oh so much that she feels the need to paint a portrait of Mrs Park’s death, to try to get the disturbing image out of her head cathartically through her art. However, the girls are told to hush up the incident as much as possible so that the press and school inspectors don’t begin to research the school’s affairs – especially since violence and psychological/physical abuse are pretty commonplace in this particular school.

The whisper refers to urban myth or legend and the corridor refers to gossip in schools where most of the films in the series are set.

Her first yaya (nanny) was hospitalized because of the girl’s disobedience (A fire happened before she was hospitalized. Angelina was the cause of the fire because her yaya tried to teach her how to grill). Her parents decided to find her another yaya which would fit for her attitude.
After a lot of applicants decide to quit the job due to Angelina’s attitude, a woman named Rosalinda “Cha-Cha” Lucero applies for the job, and is accepted. She thought that being Angelina’s yaya would be an easy job, but after some time, some tragedies occur because of Angelina such as Angelina putting a can of beer in a microwave oven at a supermarket, causing the explosion of the supermarket; she fighting with her schoolmate in a zoo; and Angelina going to the top of a belltower. Angelina’s mom decides to discharge Rosalinda if she causes any more problems. Rosalinda is frustrated about the things Angelina’s mom told her. Angelina tries to make her yaya happy, only to cause Rosalinda to be fired after accidentally killing her father’s pet fish.
Because her mother and father considers a yaya cannot help their daughter, Angelina lived without a yaya. With no-one to protect her, Angelina is accidentally kidnapped by a group of terrorists. Because of Angelina failing to call her mom and dad who were busy, she calls Rosalinda. Angelina describes a place near the warehouse (she saw the words LOSER, which was really part of a signboard saying ManoLO SERvice Center). Thinking Angelina is just playing with her, Rosalinda discharges her call. Later on, Rosalinda is convinced to help Angelina after thinking if Angelina is saying the truth. She goes to the church, where she remembered the bell ringing while Angelina was calling. There she saw the word LO SER, which pertains to Manolo Service Center. She knew that the terrorists’ hideout is near. At the warehouse, she finds Angelina, and saves her. Meanwhile, Angelina’s mom and dad thought that Rosalinda kidnapped Angelina as revenge for firing her.
Due to Angelina’s escape, the terrorists’ leader Eve kidnaps Angelina’s parents. The only way to save them is that Angelina should give flowers with a bomb inside to the Duchess of Wellington, who the terrorists want to kill while she makes her speech in Angelina’s school. Rosalinda finds a way to stop the terrorist from killing the Duchess by changing the flowers Angelina is holding with another set of flowers. Upon getting the flowers, Rosalinda arrives inside Eve’s bus and fights with her. Outside, Angelina is captured by Eve.
Only Eve can fall down, and the terrorists are falling down. Angelina’s parents decide to make Rosalinda as Angelina’s permanent yaya. The Duchess’ speech continues and awards Angelina and Rosalinda for their braveness. The film ends with Rosalinda’s back written with “LOSER”, and Angelina’s back drawn with wings.

Despicable Me http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/despicable-me.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/trailers/despicable-me.htm#comments Sun, 22 Aug 2010 05:53:01 +0000 admin http://www.bestpinoymoviesonline.com/?p=2387 TRAILER ONLY

Despicable Me is a 2010 American computer-animated 3-D comedy film from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment that was released on July 9, 2010 in the United States. The film stars Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove. It is the first CGI feature produced by Universal, in association with its Illumination Entertainment division.

The story is of a supervillain named Gru who plans to use three orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, only to find that their innocent love is profoundly changing him.
PLOT

When a busload of tourists stops at the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, a boy named Justin accidentally falls onto it to discover that it has been stolen and replaced by an inflatable rubber duplicate. News of the theft shocks and puzzles the world.

In the middle of a suburban neighborhood sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is the vast secret hideout of the supervillain Gru (Steve Carell) and his army of “minions,” which are tiny yellow pill-shaped humanoids in overalls and goggles. When he learns of the Pyramid theft, his pride is badly wounded and he resolves to pull the biggest heist in world history: stealing the Moon. Gru tries to get a loan from the local Bank of Evil (formerly Lehman Brothers), where he meets a young supervillain named Vector (Jason Segel). While Gru is reading through the blueprints for his Moon heist rocket, Vector annoys him by talking about his name and showing him his newest weapon, a gun that shoots piranhas. Mr. Perkins (Will Arnett), the bank president, refuses to give Gru a loan until he obtains the shrink ray necessary for the plan. He tells Gru that he is getting too old, and the new supervillains are younger with more money-producing schemes – like Vector, who is revealed to be the one who stole the pyramid. As Gru leaves the bank, he shoots Vector in the head with his freeze ray while he is trying to reload his piranha gun.

Gru and his minions steal the shrink ray from a secret lab in East Asia, but Vector promptly steals it from him and shrinks his ship as revenge for freezing his head; Gru attempts to get it back, but all his attempts to enter the base prove futile. After seeing three orphaned girls named Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Elsie Fisher) get into Vector’s lair to sell cookies, Gru adopts them in order to use them to steal back the shrink ray. Vector has placed a large cookie order, so Gru has his assistant, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), build several cookie-shaped robots to slip into the boxes. The cookie robots are designed to infiltrate Vector’s lair from the inside and help steal the shrink ray from Vector’s vault. The theft nearly fails when the robots inadvertently seal Gru inside the vault, but he and his minions eventually (after a close call) escape through the main entrance.

On the way home, the girls ask to go to an amusement park called Super Silly Fun Land; Gru agrees to take them, intending to leave the girls there, but is forced to ride the roller coaster with them, and bonds with them during the trip. Back at home, he fine-tunes his plan and presents it to Mr. Perkins while being interrupted by the girls. Perkins surprises him by again refusing him the loan–claiming that while he doesn’t have a problem with the plan, he doesn’t want Gru to do it. This leads Gru into a flashback of his childhood, where we see he’s wanted to go to the moon ever since he was a child. He tried to impress his mother (Julie Andrews) with models (and an actual working model) and make her proud of him, but she never seemed to care about anything he did-thus fueling his desire. Perkins then tells Vector (revealed to be his son Victor, who named himself after the mathematical term) that Gru has the shrink ray. Though Gru is ready to abandon his plan due to lack of funds, the girls and the minions take up a collection to keep it going.

After a month or so passes, Nefario, beginning to see the girls as a distraction to Gru, contacts Miss Hattie (Kristen Wiig), the girls’ nasty mistress from the local orphanage, who arrives to take the girls back to the orphanage after he claims Gru wanted to give them back. Both Gru and the girls are heartbroken. The moon heist and an important ballet recital the girls are in fall on the same day. With a broken heart, Gru flies off to the moon.

Gru shrinks the Moon, pockets it, and rushes back to Earth when he finds the recital ticket (originally given to him by Agnes and slipped into his pocket by one of the minions prior to the launch) and realizes he has time to catch it. However, it has ended by the time he arrives. On the seat that the girls reserved for him, he finds a note from Vector, who has kidnapped the girls, telling him to bring the moon. After forcing Gru to hand over the moon, Vector goes back on the deal and keeps the girls as his captives. This enrages Gru, who storms Vector’s lair, his defenses proving useless. Vector then leaves his lair in an escape pod with the girls inside. Gru chases after them, attempting to hitchhike on the exterior of the ship, and nearly falls to his death, but is rescued by Dr. Nefario in the ship that Vector shrank. Nefario reveals that the effects of the shrink ray are not permanent and the effect wears off at a rate proportional to its original mass (which he calls the “Nefario Principle”). As Gru gives chase to Vector, the effects of the shrink ray on the Moon begin to wear off, causing the Moon to grow and smash open the glass bubble holding the girls. Gru rescues them with the help of his minions, while the (rapidly-expanding) Moon wrecks Vector’s controls, causing his ship to hyperjump and carry the moon back into orbit.

Gru and the girls settle down to live a happy life as a family, while Vector is stranded on the Moon with a minion that drank a sample of anti-gravity serum and floated out of the lab after Nefario forgot to close the skylight. The girls give a special recital for the minions, Gru, and his mother, who, after years of neglecting her son, finally tells him she is proud of him. The music changes from Swan Lake to disco, and everyone present rushes onstage to dance.

“I’ll Be There“ is the first-ever movie where real life father and daughter Gabby Concepcion and KC Concepcion are united. A movie plot close to the heart of both actors as Gabby, the ex-husband of KC’s real life mom Sharon Cuneta left for the States and returned 15 or so years later. Having re-connected as father and daughter in real-life, the roles should be fairly easy for them to portray.

Hating Kapatid is a 2010 Filipino comedy-drama film produced and released by Viva Films. The film is about two sisters, Rica (Judy Ann Santos) and Cecil (Sarah Geronimo), and how the return of their Overseas Filipino Worker parents change their sibling relationship.

Two of the country’s biggest superstars, together for the first time in a landmark team-up.

In this comedy, Judy Ann stars as Maria Rica and Sarah is Maria Cecilia, daughters of public school teachers turned OFW. Left in the care of their Lola Gerty (Gina Pareño), Rica and Cecilia grow up in Bocaue, Bulacan, where they help look after the family’s firecracker business. The two girls are inseparable. Rica takes her role as the big sister seriously, to the point of breaking up with her boyfriend, Bong (JC DeVera), and vowing to devote her life taking care of Cecil when the latter is hurt in a minor accident.

Ten years come to pass and their parents return home. The family moves to Manila. Rica, though an Accounting Major graduate, chooses to sell jewelry instead of getting a professional job. Cecil, on the other hand, works as a sales clerk in a video store and a promodizer of magic sing. She meets Edsel (Luis Manzano), an insurance sales agent. Rica, sensing that the two are attracted to each other tries hard to keep them apart. Cecil, wanting to make Rica happy, tracks down Bong, but the result is the exact opposite. Rica feels betrayed, especially when she learns that her baby sister is already in a relationship. She ups and leaves. Now it’s Cecil who has to find a way to fix this.

The movie is directed by Wenn V. Deramas and is written by Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario, the same team behind the record-breaking Tanging Ina series.

Pres. Noynoy Aquino SONA http://www.newpinoymovies.com/tv-programs/pres-noynoy-aquino-sona.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/tv-programs/pres-noynoy-aquino-sona.htm#comments Mon, 26 Jul 2010 11:07:46 +0000 admin http://www.newpinoymovies.com/?p=2267 AQUINO SONA 2010 Speech:
Speaker Feliciano Belmonte; Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile; Vice President Jejomar Binay; Chief Justice Renato Corona; Former Presidents Fidel Valdez Ramos and Joseph Ejercito Estrada; members of the House of Representatives and the Senate; distinguished members of the diplomatic corps; my fellow workers in government;

GOV’T HAS LONG STRAYED TO THE CROOKED PATH
RP’S PROBLEMS WIDE-RANGING; TRUE STATE OF THE NATION KEPT SECRET FROM THE PUBLIC

ONE DISTRICT IN PAMPANGA GOT P105M; PANGASINAN ONLY GOT P5M FOR 2008 CALAMITY
FUNDS FOR PAMPANGA GIVEN ON ELECTION MONTH, 7 MOS. AFTER “ONDOY”, “PEPENG”

FREEING UP FUNDS
EDUCATION

Pasang Krus http://www.newpinoymovies.com/drama/pasang-krus.htm http://www.newpinoymovies.com/drama/pasang-krus.htm#comments Fri, 23 Jul 2010 22:50:35 +0000 admin http://www.bestpinoymoviesonline.com/?p=2221 Desperate for any kind of help in a small-town world full of long afternoons and country fairs, Hermina (Rossana Roces) struggles to flee with her four young siblings and a baby she carries on.First, she mislaid her eldest son, next her six-year old daughter and in trying to save her remaining kids from the threat, they tried to manage on their own only to find themselves in a crammed, muddled and highly-piggledy far city.

Hermina has been struggling for years to make ends meet and keep her two sons off the street aside from another one in jail.Along the way, Hermina faces challenges and obstacles but never loses hope that they will one day be together again. The film is not only hearthwarming story. It also offers subtle commentary about certain issues on injustices, the abject poverty of humans snared in a nasty and cruel environment, and the corruption and loss of innocence of the people where high hopes were destroyed.
